1) What is the difference between a zircon and a diamond?
Zircon is a synthetic stone (the exact name is Cubic Zirconia), brilliant is a natural diamond. Cubic Zirconia (also known as CZ) was created as an affordable alternative to real diamonds. The main disadvantage of zircon compared to diamond is its durability. Zircon loses its luster over time, it is bothered by acidic environments, salt water... It has a relatively low hardness, therefore the edges of the grinding wheel are ground, and all this results in a gradual loss of luster, which you will notice, for example, after five years when compared to a new zircon or brilliant . The brilliant (round-cut diamond) will still be the same. Your entire life will shine with brilliance and will add lasting value to your jewelry.
2) Is there white gold or not?
There is only one gold in its pure form - yellow. 14 and 18 carat alloys are most commonly used for jewelry. 14-karat alloy contains 58.5% pure gold and 18-karat 75%. Other metals in the alloys, such as silver and copper in yellow gold, silver, zinc, nickel or palladium in white gold, have the task of coloring the gold alloy to the desired color. Our jewelry is made of white gold alloy with silver and palladium content. All gold alloys sold are registered by the Stamp Office of the Czech Republic and all our products are tested and marked with the state hallmark.
3) What is rhodium?
Rhodium is a precious metal of absolutely white color. Because raw white gold is not quite as white as you see it in store windows, it must always be electroplated with the aforementioned rhodium. The rhodium layer is durable, but especially for rings, it breaks down over time due to mechanical wear and needs to be renewed.
4) How to replace the battery in a waterproof watch?
Changing the battery in a waterproof watch is done in the usual way, with a pressure test for water resistance after the battery change. There are often myths circulating among people that the battery is replaced in a vacuum or that the watch is filled with some special gas - it is not. The air in the watch is the same as in the surroundings, the required humidity is up to 40%. The waterproofness of the watch is ensured by rubber sealing parts around the glass, buttons, crown and back cover. These parts naturally age and lose efficiency. If the watch owner wants to be 100% sure of the declared waterproofness of his watch, it is necessary to replace all sealing parts once every 3 years at the authorized service of the given watch brand. We are happy to arrange this service for all watches purchased from us.
5) What is the accuracy of watch movements?
The most accurate information about the time will be provided by the movements controlled by the radio signal from the atomic clock.
Other movements measure time with an accuracy given by the technical possibilities, parameters and physical laws for the given type of movement:
QUARTZ MACHINE: maximum deviation +/- 10 seconds per month
SUPERQUARTZ temperature compensated movement: +/- 0.07 seconds per 24 hours
MECHANICAL MACHINE: +/- 30 seconds per 24 hours
MECHANICAL COSC CERTIFIED CHRONOMETER: -4 / +6 seconds per 24 hours
MECHANICAL MASTER CHRONOMETER certified by COSC and METAS: 0 / +5 seconds / 24 hours
So far, only the OMEGA brand has met the conditions of this highest category of movement certification.
